Welcome to Giraffe Class! We are a vibrant, welcoming class where children build confidence, develop independence, and discover a genuine love for learning.
 
In Giraffe Class, our Class Teacher is Mrs Swift and our Teaching Assistants are Mrs Carleton, Mrs Roberts and Mrs Welch.

 

Our Philosophy:

Giraffe Class is built on a simple foundation: children learn best when they feel secure, valued, and encouraged. We strive to develop personal growth and academic progress while keeping our environment warm, supportive, and accessible to every pupil.

 What We Do in Giraffe Class:

  • Practical, Engaging Learning: We focus on active learning that connects literacy, numeracy, and topical projects to the real world.

  • Building Independence: Children are guided to take ownership of their work, manage their resources, and tackle challenges with resilience.

  • Community & Respect: Kindness and cooperation are practical daily habits. We work as a team, celebrate each other's progress, and foster a strong sense of responsibility.

  • Inclusive Support: We recognise that every child progresses in their own way; providing targeted support, to meet their individual needs.

 Our Daily Routine:

Mornings are dedicated to core literacy and mathematics skills, balanced with structured group work and quiet focus time. Afternoon sessions bring wider curriculum subjects to life, including science, history, geography, computing, music, art, and physical education, often combining practical tasks with collaborative group projects.
